The Mystery of the Spirit: Why God Created Us for More

The Bible: A Gateway to the Multidimensional

There's only one book on planet earth that is multi-dimensional, multi-cultural, multi-racial, and holds examples, good and bad, of every experience, both natural and spiritual, that we can have during our lifetime. That book is the Bible! We will never run out of things to learn from the Bible. We will never exhaust the wisdom and knowledge of the Bible. There's always more!

Hence: We don't know what we don't know!

Understanding this foundational principle keeps us in humility, reaching toward another level continually. Realizing our growth is rooted in relationship with God is fundamental to tapping into the riches of the Bible and experiencing the realm of the current heaven while will on earth.

The Bible: A Living, Breathing Guide to Every Human

Every experience a person had in the Bible is a precedent for us. Yes, even spiritual matters. The earth is a teaching tool in the hands of God to help us understand spiritual things.

God created the earth for us to have a place to live in a physical body with a soul and spirit. He intended all along for us to live in the natural while simultaneously living in heaven's realm by the Spirit. Originally, we were to live in the Garden of Eden but could easily move into the throne room of God in heaven at will.

God is spirit. He already had angelic beings and creatures around His throne. But He wanted a "family" with people who CHOSE to love Him, communicate with Him, and have a relationship with Him! To get a REAL family, God had to create man with a choice. To give man free will choice, He had to provide man with a physical place to live, inside time with a lifetime to make his choice, and inside a physical body from which all decisions could be made.

God made us in His image, a spirit, but with a physical brain to reason, understand, communicate, and choose. The physical was a major part of the natural experience on earth. But man would have to seek out spiritual things to develop a relationship with God.

Stepping into the Supernatural: The Journey of Spiritual Growth

It's not hard. It just takes an intentional, "decisive" effort. The rewards of communing daily with God are innumerably great! How can this be? How can you communicate with someone you can't see, can't hear, can't touch - who is not physical like you?

When we're born into this world, we live, breathe, move, grow up physically, but our spirit man lies dormant inside us until we receive Jesus as our Savior. Something very special happens when we ask Jesus to come into our heart, when we acknowledge we're a sinner and need a Savior, and believe He died and rose from the dead to give us eternal life - REDEMPTION! It's the first experience in the spirit we can recognize: His touch, peace, and calm assurance, unmistakably experienced.

His presence is more precious than anything. We begin to look for Him daily to experience that wonderful "life flow" again and again. This is the "salvation" experience. It's not like touching a physical chair or tabletop, but it is tangible and very real. You may not be able to put it into words to explain at first, but you know down deep this is real. Hope, love, and joy fill you, and you want to learn more. You desire deeply to KNOW Him more!

How to Communicate with an Invisible God

Well, I'm going to give you more now. Remember thinking, "How can I communicate with someone I can't see, hear, or touch - who is not physical like me?" Well, here's the beautiful part: God made you a spirit LIKE Him! And He shows us how, with physical examples, we can communicate with Him.

How does a pregnant woman communicate with her baby she can't see, can't hear, can't touch? She initiates a conversation, singing, talking, and reading to her baby. By faith, she expects the baby to hear her and feel her love. When the baby is born, she can now see, hear, and touch her child, and the child responds with sounds, smiles, and excited movements of arms and legs. Communication is happening on a "beginning" level.

God has great mysteries to share with us, but He helps us grow first so we're able to learn them. You would never give a toddler the keys to a car. God, as a loving and responsible Father, makes sure we can "hold" the answers, the mysteries, before He shares and gives them to us.

Just as God created us with physical senses, to see, hear, smell, taste, touch, sense, well: guess what?

Awakening Your Spiritual Sense to Encounter God

God also instilled, fashioned, and formed within our spirit the capability to communicate with Him in the realm of heaven through our spiritual senses. There is medical proof through brain scans, etc., that parts of our brain literally burst into light when we pray (talk to God). Only God could do this, right?

You felt His touch when you received Jesus as your personal Savior. You begin to recognize (or see) His works in others and throughout your own life. We can read (see) the Bible to learn (see) how He works and begin to KNOW Him more and more.

Then we grow into hearing or sensing His direction: "don't go that way, go this way" or "park here - not there," and you immediately realize His protection over you.

You crave His Presence. You depend on - rely on- Him. You ask Him questions about everything now. Your relationship is growing. Conversation is flowing! You know His touch and His peace.

One day I smelled a beautiful fragrance, but there was no candle burning, no air freshener, or perfume around. I didn't sneeze at the smell either. I just sensed His Presence in a new way! He's introducing me to new ways of experiencing the realm of heaven.

The opposite of beautiful fragrance also happened. It was a bitter stench. I immediately recognized a devilish presence and used my authority in Jesus to rebuke its presence around me. I told it to "GO" in the name of Jesus, and the Bible says demons have to flee. The smell was gone.

Unlocking the Unseen: Experiencing Heaven on Earth

If we all had a deeper relationship with God BEFORE tragedy hits, we would walk it out much differently. The physical body has trauma shock buffers (ultimately, slowed motion so as not to break down), but it can't exchange trauma for peace without God and His realm of heaven!

Daily life would be more bearable and successful when we know how to step into the realm of heaven to help us!

Just this past Monday, I awoke and, sitting with God, I acknowledged my dread to start the day. Yes, I literally felt "ugh" to begin the week. That's not a way I was meant to start anything. Everyone I come in contact with will pick up on my "ugh" and certainly not want to be around me. In my flesh, I lose the appeal of inspiration or encouragement for others.

The first step was recognizing it and giving it over to God to help me. He instructed me to read Isaiah 26:3-4

Isaiah 26 Amplified

In Isaiah 26:3-4 from the Classic Amplified Bible version, it states: "You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast (that is, committed and focused on You--in both inclination and character), because he trusts and takes refuge in You (with hope and confident expectation). Trust confidently in the Lord forever (He is your fortress, your shield, your banner), for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock (the Rock of Ages)."

The minute I read these verses, it felt like a blanket of acceptance, love, and hope fell on me. God wasn't mad at me for having an "ugh" morning. He just replaced my "ugh" with fresh ideas, and I was suddenly ready to start my day's lesson planning for my private music students. And this blanket stayed over me throughout the day. When I checked in with God this morning, the blanket was still there, and today is Thursday. Wow! He's so faithful!

With the tragic plane and helicopter crashes killing 67 in one accident and 4 in another in January/February of 2025, my heart sinks for the families involved who are experiencing a deep sense of grief, possibly regret, and asking questions about the final moments of their loved ones.
